How can I change my RTL Altitude

In order to have the Discovery Return to land at a higher height than the flight height, follow this article.

To Increase the Return to Launch Altitude we are going to change a vehicle safety parameter through the controller.

Steps:

  1. Power on the drone and Herelink controller. Ensure consistent power throughout the process—both devices must not power down. For best results, install fresh batteries in both drone terminals. If desired, you can keep the Herelink connected to a power source through its microUSB port.
  2. On the Herelink: If your controller does not automatically open and connect, click the icon on the top page marked with the “Q” icon to open QGC. Wait for the parameters to download from the drone.
  3. Allow the drone to establish a connection and retrieve all necessary parameters indicated by the green loading bar.
  4. Click the “Q” icon in the corner and select “Vehicle Setup”.
  5. On the left side scroll down to select the "Safety" tab. Then scroll down in the safety window to see the "Return to Launch" options.
  6. Next to the "Return at specified altitude" set the altitude in cm, shown here is 50 meters.
    1. Do not set the altitude above 12000 (max FAA altitude)
    2. Recommended high altitude is 10000
  7. In the top left corner select back (the parameter will set automatically)
