How to charge batteries for the Discovery 2

Use the included battery charger to safely charge batteries to full and to discharge batteries for storage.

Steps

  1. Take our charger and our wall plug and plug into a standard wall outlet
  2. Place batteries in front of the charger and plug in the yellow lead, as well as the white
    1. The yellow connector is where the majority of current flows through, the white connector let's the charger read individual cells that make up the battery and balance the charge across them
  3. Select one of the two batteries plugged in by clicking the "Ch" button. Then use the scroll wheel to select and bring up the menu.

  4. You can charge batteries using either the "Charge" or the "Balance" function. Either option will balance the charging of your battery across all 6 cells inside the battery.

    1. Settings for Charge:
      1. Select Task: Charge
      2. Battery type: LiPo
      3. Cell voltage: 4.20v
      4. Cell count: 6S(22.2V)
      5. Current Setting: 7.0A
    2. Settings for Balance:
      1. Select Task: Balance
      2. Battery type: LiPo
      3. Cell voltage: 4.20v
      4. Cell count: 6S(22.2V)
      5. Current Setting: 7.0A
  5. Start charging by scrolling down and selecting 'Start task'
  6. Navigate to a second battery by selecting "Ch" again and switching the channel from 1 to 2 or vice cersa. Charge the second battery by following steps 1-5 above again. 
  7. When the batteries are finished charging, the screen will show a green accent color / background for the finished battery. The charger will also say "done" on the screen.
    1. Stop a charge by clicking the scroll wheel and hitting "Stop" if batteries are still charging when you remove them. This will prevent sparking and damaging the battery or charger.
