      Update your Discovery 2 with SD card

      Update your Discovery 2 with the latest operating system and features using the built in MicroSD card slot



      1. Insert the SmartDrone provided microSD card into your computer using the adapter

      2. Open the SD card folder and create a new folder called “image”

      3. Download the latest firmware from SmartDrone

      4. Drag and drop the downloaded binary update file into the “image” folder on the microSD card 

      5. Rename the file "a.1"

      6. Eject the microSD card from your computer using the bottom right toolbar section on your computer to "safely eject"

      7. With your Discovery drone powered off, install the microSD card (listen for the audible click)

      8. Power on the drone and start a 5-minute timer - CAUTION - do not power off the drone or reset the drone during the 5 minutes

      9. Power off the drone and remove the SD card

      10. Plug the provided ethernet cable into the right-side ethernet port in the battery compartment and power the drone back on

      11. Allow the drone to boot up

      12. Open a web browser and navigate to “20.20.20.1”

      13. Make sure your build number has updated to the new build number (top right-hand corner)

        *Another way to verify that the update was successful is to look on the SD card and ensure the "image" folder you created is no longer present (when the update is successful, the image folder is deleted automatically)

      14. IT IS RECOMMENDED that you take your drone out for a test flight to ensure functionality after any update
